6 Troubleshooting and Diagnostics CE Problem Solving CE Problem Solving The problem solving section in the instrument online help assists you in solving the most common failures. Nevertheless, a short list of problems are featured here. Power On Fail The instrument will boot up after turning the instrument on by pressing the power on switch. A green LED in the power switch is illuminated. If the instrument power on fails, the green control LED in the power switch may not light up. • Check the external power supply, power cords and plugs for proper connection. • Check the line fuses next to the power plug on the right rear of the instrument. • Check fuses 1 to 6 on the main electronic board. A blown fuse is indicated by a small red LED visible through a hole in the metal shield of the instrument. 162 Agilent 7100 Capillary Electrophoresis System User Manual
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics 6 CE Problem Solving Leaks The leak sensor in the Agilent CE instrument is located in the lower right part of the instrument, see Figure 50. Leak sensor Figure 50 Leak sensor position When the leak sensor is activated: • The error LED on the front of the instrument is illuminated. • The CE status displays an error. • A logbook entry is created. • The run is stopped. • Pressure is released. • High voltage application is stopped.
