3 Installing <strong>the</strong> Instrument<br />

Installing <strong>the</strong> Instrument<br />

Connecting Cables<br />

The <strong>Agilent</strong> CE instrument has <strong>the</strong> following connec<strong>to</strong>rs on <strong>the</strong> rear.<br />

• All electrical connec<strong>to</strong>rs, such as line power, LAN connec<strong>to</strong>r or fuses, are<br />

located on <strong>the</strong> right-hand side of <strong>the</strong> electronic box on <strong>the</strong> back of <strong>the</strong><br />

instrument.<br />

• All connec<strong>to</strong>rs for liquids and external pressure supply are located on <strong>the</strong><br />

left-hand side of <strong>the</strong> electronic box.<br />

1 Ensure that <strong>the</strong> line power switch on <strong>the</strong> front of <strong>the</strong> instrument is OFF.<br />

2 Connect <strong>the</strong> following cables as shown in Table 2 and in Figure 2.<br />

a One power cable<br />

b LAN cable, which connects <strong>the</strong> <strong>Agilent</strong> CE instrument directly <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

computer with <strong>the</strong> <strong>Agilent</strong> ChemStation installed or <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> local network.<br />

For a description of remaining items refer <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Hardware section.<br />

• For more information on cable connection <strong>to</strong> 3 rd party detec<strong>to</strong>rs or analog<br />

out, please refer <strong>to</strong> “Hardware Information” on page 171.<br />
