Significant Budget Issues
Kitsap County Extension’s core programs are funded by three partners, the United States Department of Agriculture, the
State of Washington and Kitsap County. Budget challenges by any combination of two or more partners can be expected
to have a significant impact on local Extension programming. For 2010 and the near term, full state and local funding will
continue to be at-risk. Kitsap County Extension will continue to seek alternative sources of program revenue including, but
not limited to, grants, contracts, gifts, donations, program registrations and fees-for-service.
