COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT<br />

Initiatives:<br />

1. Develop internal resources sufficient to meet forecasted needs for day-to-day on-scene investigations.<br />

2. Maintain Ten Days on the Clock capacity – Review applications submitted for approval within ten days of<br />

receiving them.<br />

3. Maintain Your Way in Two Days capacity – Perform requested inspections within two days of receiving them or<br />

at another later date at the applicants request.<br />

4. Develop effectiveness measures to include evaluation of applications that are or can be approved on first<br />

review and an evaluation of the types of inspections with a greater proportion of reinspections.<br />

5. Resolve compliance issues at the earliest and lowest level of enforcement possible.<br />

6. Increase enforcement tools available to staff and those charged with code enforcement authority.<br />

7. Support compliance decisions within departments with dedicated code authority.<br />

A) Maintain the ability to respond as needed twenty four hours a day, seven days a week to investigate<br />

fires consistent with policies adopted throughout the fire districts (Large dollar loss fires, serious<br />

firefighter or civilian injury or death, arson or suspected arson, involving county property or otherwise<br />

unknown.<br />

B) Maintain application turnaround times at or below an average of ten work days.<br />

C) Maintain inspection turnaround times at or below an average of two work days after receiving a request<br />

(or at a later date at the request of an applicant).<br />

D) Decrease Days to Close for compliance cases.<br />
