<strong>Encore</strong> <strong>Two</strong> <strong>User</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> Issue 1Surround Manager (Digital)The Surround Manager option displays the Surround Sound Managerscreen.It is used to apply surround stem setups live on the console surface.Also, user defined surround macros can also be applied.> To select the stem to work with, click on the drop down arrow next tothe Selected stem in the Stem Select Box.A list of stems A to F will be shown.> Click on the required stem.The Tracks that the stem is composed of will be shown in the SurroundStem Setup box.The current speaker assignment for each path is shown above it.Predefined Macros> Click on the All Mono, Stereo, Rvrs Stereo, LCRS, 5.1 or 7.1 radiobutton in the Macro Select box.The speaker indicators above the path names will change to show the newdesignations.Custom Macros> Click on the drop down arrow next to the Selected box in the MacroSelect box.A list of currently defined custom macros will be shown.> Click on the required item in the list.The name of the macro will be shown in the Selected box.The speaker indicators above the path names will change to show the newdesignations. The change to speaker routing on the console is immediate.To define a custom Macro, see Custom Surround Macros in the chapteron Desk Edit.Certain speaker designationscan only be used once in anindividual stem (e.g. Inner FrontRight).If the speaker designation isalready used, then assigning itto a different path willautomatically cause the paththat was previously using it tobe designated as Mono.> To change speaker designations on-the-fly, click and hold on a speakerposition icon in the Surround Type Select box (the pointer will "pick up"a copy of the speaker icon).> Drag the icon to the existing speaker designation icon above therequired path in the Surround Stem Setup box, and release the mousebutton.The new speaker designation icon will be shown above the path name.The change to speaker routing on the console is immediate.> To reverse changes to a stem, click the Undo button in the StemSelect Box.The stem will revert to the speaker designations it had when SurroundSound Manager was started.> To close Surround Sound Manager, click the Exit button.- 195 -
