<strong>Encore</strong> <strong>Two</strong> <strong>User</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> Issue 1PreferencesAllows users to establish and set various system options.To set Preferences:> Click on Preferences in the drop down Options Menu;> Click the Preferences icon; or> Press f8 on the keyboard.The tabbed System Defaults dialogue box will appear, showing theAutomation options.AutomationKeep Mode> To automatically write automation data to the hard-disc every time aStop is detected, check the Auto Keep checkbox.Whenever a Stop is detected on the timeline, the automation will bewritten to disc and become the current Play/Pass.Alternatively, the system can be set to Auto-Save which can be every 5,10, 20 or 50 passes.In this instance, automation data is held on the RAM of the PC until it iswritten to the drive.The system Administrator can also force all other non-administrator usersinto <strong>Manual</strong> Keep by ticking the Lock <strong>Manual</strong> Keep for non-Administrators box.If set to Auto Keep, then <strong>Encore</strong> will display how many passes haveelapsed until data is written to the disc.Instant Start AutomationWith this option checked, it is possible to automate from a standing start(and therefore from a particular frame) without taking into accountwhether any attached tape machines are up to play-speed.Show Mix Pass Tree (+/- key)If checked, shows the Mix/Pass Tree when pressing +/- on the main<strong>Encore</strong> screen.Initial SnapshotWith the First Mode Change Updates ISS option ticked, any controlthat is in Isolate will have it’s Initial Snapshot updated with a new value (ifapplicable) when that control is first put into Play, Record (or Trim).Safety StopThis determines how automation behaves with regard to Stop andoverwriting previous automation.- 63 -
