<strong>Encore</strong> <strong>Two</strong> <strong>User</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> Issue 1File ManagementThere are two main applications within <strong>Encore</strong> <strong>Two</strong> for managing files:• Filing• Backup ManagerIn addition to this, Automotion is used to convert files from earlierversions of software, and to transfer Studio Configurations to Offline<strong>Encore</strong>, as detailed in the previous pages.FilingYou can run this from the System menu or by clicking the Filing icon.It is the main housekeeping utility for managing automation andconfiguration files.Filing has three pages, one for Automation, Desk Setup and SystemFiles (the System files are configuration files other than Desk Setups).Filing is where you can change the links between Mix Trees and DeskSetups, and between Desk Setups and other configuration files.You can also use Filing to copy, delete and create files, and you can markConfiguration files as Read Only to protect them from accidentalalterations or deletion.Backup ManagerYou can use Backup Manager to copy some or all of the <strong>Encore</strong> <strong>Two</strong> datafiles to another disk or to another location on the same disk.It is more usual to copy files to another location, such as a flash drive viaUSB, CD, a floppy disk (for small files) or a network drive.Initially, the entire <strong>Encore</strong> <strong>Two</strong> folder is selected for backup, but you canexpand the underlying structure to choose items for a selective backup orrestore.The screen is divided in two, showing the contents of the <strong>Encore</strong> <strong>Two</strong> drivein the upper half and the contents of the backup medium in the lower.> Operation is by the straightforward selection of files for backup orrestore (by ticking for files to be included) and then clicking on theappropriate button.> You can view links and properties for any file, by clicking the file toselect it, then clicking the Details button.You can use Nero to copy the files from the local C: drive onto CD.If you select Finalize before copying, this allows Backup Manager torestore from the CD directly.- 218 -
