<strong>Encore</strong> <strong>Two</strong> <strong>User</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> Issue 1SEL Monitoring ControlThis sets which SEL outputs are affected by the Control Room Monitoringoptions (eg Cut Left, Phase, Mono, etc).The options are:• Just Control Room (Sel 1)• Control Room and Studio Loudspeakers (SELs 1 & 2)• SELs in Follow (All SELs except SEL 2)• Global (all SELs)These selections have no effect when working in Surround.MCSThe MCS page is used to set the preferences for the Machine ControlSystem.It is split into four sub pages that are selected by clicking on the sub-pagetabs.ReferencesReference SourceThis option informs the MCS how the timeline is sourced.External LTCTimecode is read from the Timecode Track on a tape machine.The MCS has no control over this machine.The transport controls show the machine status according to incomingtimecode.9 Pin & InternalThe timeline position is taken from the master machine. The timeline isgenerated internally and the master machine is servoed until it locks tothe timeline. The MCS controls the master machine.9 Pin & VideoThe timeline position is taken from the master machine. The timeline isgenerated and read from a video pulse generator and the master machineis servoed until it locks to the timeline. The MCS controls the mastermachine.LTC From Master MachineThe MCS controls the tape machine through the 9 Pin serial port buttimecode is read from the Timecode Track on the tape machine.LTC Reader Validation PeriodThis is the number of consecutively incremented timecode frames that arereceived before MCS acknowledges that the timecode source is in play.- 72 -
