<strong>Encore</strong> <strong>Two</strong> <strong>User</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> Issue 1ShutdownShutdown The MachineShuts down the PC.Shutdown & Restart MachineShuts down and restarts the PC.<strong>Encore</strong> Emergency DiskIf it is necessary to reinstall <strong>Encore</strong>, rather than having to reset all the<strong>Encore</strong>, hardware and I/O settings, it is possible to back all of these onto asingle dedicated floppy disc which can then be restored.Creating an <strong>Encore</strong> Emergency Disc consists of two parts:• Create the Emergency disc• Backup the necessary filesTo Create an Emergency DiskThis will format the disc in drive A: and write some necessary system filesneeded for the backup.If you have not already done so, make sure you are logged onto the PC asthe Administrator.> Place a floppy disc into the A: drive.> From the Tools menu, select Administrator/<strong>Encore</strong> Emergency Disk.The ED<strong>AMS</strong> Welcome screen will open.> Click on Create a Blank Emergency Disk.The screen on the left shows options for digital consoles.This will begin the standard Windows floppy-disk format and write sometemporary files onto the disk.Even if the disk has already been formatted and contains no files, youmust go through the Format procedure (do not select Quick Formatwhen prompted).Create Backup> Once the format has finished, click on Backup Emergency Data.The relevant data will be copied to the A: drive, and once finished, adialog box will display it's completion.> Click OK to close this box, and then click Exit.You have now created the <strong>Encore</strong> Emergency Disk containing all yourunique system settings.You can check that the disk has been created successfully.
