By repeating the procedure, youcan create as many plate documents asneeded.As a faster alternative to the optionabove, the software includes aTemplate Batch utility that cansimultaneously create multiple platedocuments from the plate documenttemplate.Follow theprocedurebelow.4-36Creating a SDSPlate Documentfrom a Template1. In the SDS software, click (or select File > New).2. Configure the New Document dialog box:• Assay drop-down list – Select the same assay as the plate documenttemplate.• Container drop-down list – Select the same plate type as the platedocument template.• Template drop-down list – Select the plate document template (*.sdt)created on page 3-24.If the plate document template does not appear inside the Template drop-downlist, select the file as explained below:a. Click .b. In the Look in field of the Open dialog box, navigate to and select the platedocument template (*.sdt) created on page 3-24.c. Click .The Template drop-down list displays the plate document template.Note: The Template drop-down list displays all plate document templatescontained in the Templates subdirectory of the SDS program directory.• Barcode field – (Optional) Do one of the following:– Enter the bar code number for the plate, or– Scan the plate bar code using the hand-held bar code scanner.3.
