Chapter 1Product OverviewTypes ofRetrievable DataPersisted Plate DocumentsPersisted plate documents include the equivalent information stored in SDS platedocuments. Plate documents have a 1:1 correspondence with the optical plate or LowDensity Array they represent. Each persisted plate documents consists of a collectionof plate setup information for running a plate on the 7900HT instrument including:• Sample/well assignments,• Marker/detector definitions and well assignments,• Marker/detector tasks and quantity,• Plate bar codeAnalysis SessionsAn analysis session is a set of analysis results derived from a single raw data setassociated with a single plate document analyzed by the SDS software. Multipleanalysis sessions can be associated with the same plate document. Each analysissession has a unique name used to distinguish it from the other sessions for the sameplate document.Session data exists in two states on the database: attached or unattached. Attachedsessions are those that have been assigned to a specific study. Session data can beattached to a study by the Automation Controller Software or by using the RQManager or SNP Manager Software.IMPORTANT! After you attach a session to a study, you cannot add it to anotherstudy until you unattach it. See the RQ Manager Software User Guide or SNPManager Software User Guide for instructions on removing attached sessions from astudy.RQ and SNP StudiesThe SDS Enterprise Database software uses a system of studies to organize thesecondary analysis of session data produced by an Applied Biosystems 7900HT FastReal-Time PCR System. The central purpose of using the study system is to groupthe analysis session data for analysis using the SNP Manager or the RQ ManagerAnalysis Software.Supporting API DocumentationTechnologySupportThe SDS Enterprise Database includes a copy of the SDS Enterprise Database forthe Applied Biosystems 7900HT Fast Real-Time PCR System Administrators Guide, which provides information for integrating the database into a laboratory workflow. The guide includes:• Detailed information about the SDS Enterprise Database API• Supporting information such as sample code, javadoc reference, andconnectivity requirements for the database.1-28 Applied Biosystems 7900HT Fast Real-Time PCR System and SDS Enterprise Database User GuideDRAFTSeptember 1, 2004 11:38 am, CH_Overview.fm
