People, the: A werewolf term for their own kind.<br />

Pure Tribes: <strong>The</strong> three tribes who reject the idea of atonement;<br />

enemies of the Tribes of the Moon. Also “the Pure.”<br />

Rage: <strong>The</strong> mental state of fury and instinct to kill that<br />

overcomes werewolves in Gauru form. Sometimes used to refer<br />

poetically to Gauru form; i.e., “the mixed blessing of Rage.”<br />

Rahu (rah-hoo): <strong>The</strong> auspice role of warrior and howler<br />

at the full moon.<br />

Ralunim (rah-loo-nim): <strong>The</strong> choir of Lunes tied to the<br />

full moon; patron spirits of the Rahu. Also, the Fury Choir.<br />

Shadow Realm: <strong>The</strong> spirit world; the spiritual reflection<br />

of the physical world. Also simply “<strong>The</strong> Shadow.”<br />

Spirit-Claimed: A person or animal who has been<br />

completely possessed by a spirit. (Also, the state of such possession.)<br />

<strong>The</strong> process changes the host body into something<br />

supernatural, often with strange powers.<br />

Spirit-Ridden: Anyone possessed by a spirit to any<br />

degree; spirit possession in general.<br />

Spirit-Urged: A person or animal who is partially possessed<br />

by a spirit. (Also, the state of such possession.) <strong>The</strong><br />

host retains much of his free will but can be influenced by<br />

the subtle urges of the spirit.<br />

spirit wilds: <strong>The</strong> spirit world; specifically, the sections<br />

of the spirit world that have not been mastered by werewolf<br />

packs (hence, the vast majority)<br />

stepping sideways: Entering the spirit world.<br />

Storm Lords: A tribe of fearless, intimidating alphas<br />

who purge all weakness and dishonor from their souls.<br />

totem: A spirit that has been forced or convinced to<br />

support and aid a pack of werewolves.<br />

touchstone: An object empowered with Essence from a<br />

locus.<br />

tribe: A loose organization of werewolves allied by a<br />

common cause and bond with a common tribal totem.<br />

Tribes of the Moon: <strong>The</strong> five tribes that venerate Luna<br />

and who attempt to atone for their forebears’ sins.<br />

tur: Neutral ground; a site on which a meeting between<br />

packs may take place.<br />

Uratha (oo-RAH-thah): Werewolves.<br />

Urhan (ur-hahn): <strong>The</strong> wolf form.<br />

Urshul (ur-shool): <strong>The</strong> bestial wolf-like form of a werewolf.<br />

wolf-blooded: Human relatives of the Uratha who have a<br />

measure of werewolf blood and resistance to the Lunacy.<br />

Wound: A place of exceptionally negative energy in the<br />

Shadow; a locus of poisoned resonance.<br />

Zi’ir: A werewolf who has degenerated entirely into a<br />

thoughtless, amoral monster. Also called a “Broken Soul.”<br />
