Provisional Sum for payment to DAAB
Preparation of Provisional Sum
The costs of DAAB will have been estimated by the Employer and
the Engineer at the time of the appraisal of the project, and must be
included in the Bill of Quantities by the Engineer and Employer as a
Provisional Sum based on the estimate of cost of the DAAB. The
Provisional Sum should be one-half of that estimate of cost which
will be born by the Employer. (It is emphasized that the Provisional
Sum should be only one-half of the estimated cost of the DAAB,
even though the Financier’s loan is to include 100% of the estimated
cost of DAAB) Thus the Provisional Sum will be the source of the
funds for payment of the DAAB. However, in order to ensure the
payment to the DAAB members by use of the Provisional Sum, the
General Conditions Sub- Clause 13. 5 should be amended in the
Particular Conditions. A recommended provision is as follows:
