Ideale Realitäten - Potsdam
Innovative Strategien sollen in den innerstädtischen Quartieren Potsdams langfristig
funktionierende urbane Räume mit öffentlichen Freiflächen schaffen und
das städtische Leben entlang der Havel fördern. Besonders das Quartier zwischen
Havelufer und Hauptbahnhof verlangt nach struktureller Verknüpfung von
Landschafts- und Stadtraum, die zwischen Reparatur, Verständnis für den speziellen
Ort und grundlegender Erneuerung liegen.
Konzepte zukünftiger Nutzungen dieses urbanen Landschaftsraums waren ebenso
zu entwickeln, wie die Gestalt und Erscheinung einer neuen Parkanlage im
Zentrum des Areals. Es war zu klären, wie der neue Freiraum den Landschaftsraum
„Havel“ mit dem angrenzenden Stadtgeflecht und seinen unterschiedlichen
Quartiersstrukturen vernetzen kann.
Ideal realities - Potsdam
Innovative strategies are intended to create long-semester functioning urban
spaces in the inner-city quarters of Potsdam with public open spaces to promote
urban life along the Havel. In particular, the quarter between the banks of the
Havel and the central station requires a structural connection of landscape and
urban space that lie in between repair, understanding of the specific location,
and basic regeneration.
Concepts for future uses of this urban landscape space were to be developed
along with the form and appearance of a new park in the centre of the area. It
was to be clarified how the new open space could interlink the“Havel” landscape
area with the adjacent city nexus and the structures of its various quarters.

Sulzbach -Rosenberg muß die Zukunft des ehemaligen Industrieareals der Maxhütte
neu denken. Teilweise Industriedenkmal, in kleinen Bereichen noch genutzt, vereint
die ehemalige Hütte nicht nur technische Besonderheiten, sondern prägt immer
noch das Gesicht der Stadt und der Region.
Die Herausforderung im Umgang mit dieser Industrie-Kultur-Landschaft besteht
darin, die Begriffe von Stadt und Landschaft zu erweitern und neue Wege durch
Vermittlung des historischen Kontexts und der Komplexität aufzuzeigen. Die Konversion
der Maxhütte braucht innovative Strategien, um langfristig funktionierende
öffentliche Räume und neues Leben auf dem ehemaligen Hüttengelände anzubieten.
Es waren konzeptionelle Ideen und Thesen für die Freiräume und die städtebauliche
Struktur, zukünftige Nutzung und Gestalt des Maxhüttenareals zu erarbeiten.
Landschaftsarchitektur kann zur Entwicklung des neuen, siedlungsökologisch optimierten
und sozial integrierten Quartiers wichtige Beiträge leisten.
Maxhütte reloaded - Landscape remodeling landscape before demolition
Sulzbach-Rosenberg has to rethink the future of the former industrial area of Maxhütte.
Partly industrial monument, still in use in small areas, combines not only
technical features but still characterises the face of the city and the region.
The challenge in dealing with this industrial-cultural landscape is to extend the terms
of city and countryside, and to identify new ways through the intermediary of the
historical context and complexity. The conversion of Maxhütte needs innovative
strategies to provide long-semester functioning public spaces and new life to the
former foundry. There were conceptual ideas and theories in the open spaces and
the urban structure to develop and shape the future use Maxhüttenareals.
Landscape architecture can make important contributions to the development of
new, environmentally optimised settlements and socially integrated neighbourhoods.
