Der Kurzfilm einer Studentengruppe zeigt die
„Betoninsel“ hinter dem Münchner Schlachthofgelände
in neuer Realität als Badeinsel.
Geschickt gewählte Kameraperspektiven, gezielte
Wasserspritzer und Gegenlicht-Einstellungen
überlassen es dem Betrachter, sich die neue Badewelt
vorzustellen, ohne sie direkt zu zeigen.
The short film of a group of students shows the „concrete
island“ behind the Munich slaughterhouse
area, presenting it in a new reality as bathing island.
Cleverly chosen camera angles, targeted water spray
and backlight settings allow the viewer to imagine
the new bathing world, without showing it directly.
Forschung Research
Better Airport Regions
Im 2012 gestarteten und durch den niederländischen Wissenschaftsfonds NWO
unterstützten Forschungsprojekt „Better Airport Regions“ untersuchen TU München
und ETH Zürich zusammen mit der TU Delft die Nachhaltigkeitspotenziale
innerhalb von beispielhaften Flughafenregionen in Europa. Die Flughafenbetreiber
wie auch kommunale und regionale Verwaltungen in den Flughafenregionen von
Zürich und Amsterdam unterstützen das Projekt und entwerfen gemeinsam mit der
Forschungsgruppe neben technischen Systemlösungen auch Governanceansätze
für die Implementierung des vorgeschlagenen Nachhaltigkeitspfades in der Praxis
der räumlichen Plaung.
Das Teilprojekt „Urban Regional Integration: Improving Carbon Balance of Airports
and Cities“ wird durch die KIC Climate Change Initiative des EIT European
Institute of Technology gefördert.
Airports and Cities is a joint research platform of TU München and ETH Zürich
that investigates the relationship of airports and the surrounding urban regions.
Searching for a deeper understanding of their systemic reciprocity. The aim is finding
potentialities for better and more sustainable airport and urban development
strategies. Airports and Cities is based on specific case studies, such as Zurich,
Amsterdam or Munich Airport region. Airport and Cities‘ main research topics are:
Urbanisation effects of hub airports, Reference cases for Development of airport
design and planning, Best practices of enhanced reciprocity of airports and cities,
Conceptual models for airports and cities. Airports and Cities collaborates with
academic, governmental, and industrial partners in teaching, research, and publication
projects.
Airports and Cities Rationale and Aims: Like other large scale infrastructure, airports
and their urban surrounding have developed over a long time into a mutually
dependent urban system. However, this emerging urban system was never planned,
and is underperforming. The path towards more sustainable airports requires that
not only the airport itself, but the overall urban system becomes more sustainable,
notably by: A) An Integrating Model for Handling Critical Flows to Enhance Efficiency
and Performance in the Region, e.g. flows of water, energy, waste, and transport.
B) A New Governance Model for Airport and Airport Region.
Auskundschaften von Stadt und Land
Was wird wahrgenommen wenn man einen Stadt- oder Landschaftsraum betrachtet
und was übersieht man? Unter dem Titel „Auskundschaften von Stadt und
Land“ verbirgt sich ein Forschungsansatz, der einen differenzierten Blick auf alltägliche
Raumsituationen wie auch auf ungewöhnliche Orte wirft. Neue Lesarten
und alternative Darstellungsmethoden- wie zum Beispiel das Untersuchen mit
filmischen Mitteln - sollen weitere räumliche aber auch mentale Zugänge zum
Entwerfen von Stadt und Land eröffnen. Film als Entwurfswerkzeug ist wichtiger
Bestandteil der Entwurfsaufgaben des Lehrstuhls und soll als „Filmisches Modul“
die Städtebaulehre ergänzen.
Explore the city and country
What is perceived when one considers a city or a landscape and what does one
overlook? Beneath the title “Explore the city and country” is a research approach
that takes a more nuanced view of everyday situations as well as space in unusual
locations. New interpretations and alternative methods of analysis, such as
exploration on film - should open up not only more physical space but also mental
inroads to the design of city and country. Film as a design tool is an important
part of the design challenges of the department and as “cinematic module” is
intended to complement the urban development component of the course.
