Fassadenintegrierte Energiegewinnung –
Façade-integrated energy generation –
concepts for skyscrapers in the subtropics
On closer examination of the projected most populous agglomerations in the
year 2025, the frequent occurrence of these cities in the subtropics is striking.
There are already many high-rise buildings under construction here, which,
however, often embody mere copies of Western architecture, without reacting to
the prevailing climatic and solar conditions. It is important on the one hand to
reap the large solar energy potential and on the other to consider the risk of
overheating.
The aim of the diploma thesis is the development of a façade system or a façade
module which can be adapted to the climatic and solar conditions of the respective
location in the subtropics. In the process, the focus of the work is on the
maximisation of the solar energy output while at the same time minimising the
solar gains . On the hand hand, the façade system is to be applied to new highrise
buildings, on the other hand to existing skyscrapers.
