2.5.3.5 The dry ma<strong>in</strong>s’ breech<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>lets shall be with<strong>in</strong> 18m and visible<br />

from the nearest fire eng<strong>in</strong>e accessways. Where the breech<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong>lets are located at the vent shafts, the design shall be such<br />

that the fire-fight<strong>in</strong>g operation near the breech<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>lets is not<br />

affected by smoke exhaust<strong>in</strong>g from the vent shafts.<br />

2.5.3.6 Connect<strong>in</strong>g pipe between the <strong>in</strong>lets and the vertical run of the<br />

ma<strong>in</strong>s, where applicable, shall be kept as short as possible.<br />

2.5.3.7 Breech<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>lets shall be appropriately numbered and labelled<br />

as shown below. The total number of dry ma<strong>in</strong>s provided <strong>for</strong><br />

the station (<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g tunnels) shall be <strong>in</strong>dicated. The word<strong>in</strong>g<br />

shall be white on a contrast<strong>in</strong>g background.<br />
