(c) Where there are more than one private hydrant that are<br />

storage and pump<strong>in</strong>g arrangements of water supply to<br />
these specified hydrants shall comply with those <strong>for</strong> wet<br />
ris<strong>in</strong>g ma<strong>in</strong>s stipulated <strong>in</strong> SS 574 and Table 2.4.4.2 -<br />

2.4.4.3 All hydrant ma<strong>in</strong>s which pass through a station shall have its<br />
full length with<strong>in</strong> the station protected with fire resistance<br />
construction of at least the same fire resistance as the element<br />
of structure, provided the follow<strong>in</strong>g requirements are complied<br />
with:<br />
(a) The hydrant ma<strong>in</strong>s shall be located <strong>in</strong> common<br />
circulation spaces and driveways; i.e. they shall not<br />
pass through private or conf<strong>in</strong>ed spaces;<br />
(b) No services (except spr<strong>in</strong>kler pipes) shall be located<br />
above or cross<strong>in</strong>g over the hydrant ma<strong>in</strong>s;<br />
(c) The hydrant ma<strong>in</strong>s shall be located away from explosion<br />
risk areas; and<br />
(d) The protective enclosure to the hydrant ma<strong>in</strong>s shall be<br />
labelled with the words "HYDRANT MAIN" of<br />
m<strong>in</strong>imum 50mm height at suitable <strong>in</strong>tervals.<br />
