S2.6.5 The <strong>in</strong>stallation and operation of the mechanical ventilation<br />

systems shall<br />

(i) have m<strong>in</strong>imal contribution to the spread of fire and<br />

smoke <strong>in</strong> the station; and<br />

(ii) have no adverse effects on the operation of other life<br />

safety or fire suppression systems.<br />

S2.6.6 Provisions <strong>for</strong> appropriate and adequate ventilation to<br />

(i) rooms hous<strong>in</strong>g essential fire-fight<strong>in</strong>g facilities <strong>for</strong><br />

cont<strong>in</strong>ual operation; and<br />

(ii) fire command centre.<br />

S2.6.7 Provisions to prevent re-circulation of smoke <strong>in</strong>to the system<br />

due to the effects of a fire <strong>in</strong> the station, with considerations<br />

<strong>for</strong>:-<br />

(i) air <strong>in</strong>take open<strong>in</strong>gs; and<br />

(ii) station entrances; and<br />

(iii) station and / or tra<strong>in</strong>way surface open<strong>in</strong>gs; and<br />

(iv) adjacent structures and property uses.<br />
