(h) All sides shall be properly sealed, and<br />

(i) The concealed space shall be sub-divided by cavity<br />

barriers such that the maximum unobstructed area<br />

with<strong>in</strong> the concealed space do not exceed 930m 2 , and<br />

(j) Where the concealed space is fitted with an automatic<br />

spr<strong>in</strong>kler system which complies with the requirements<br />

<strong>in</strong> Section 2.5, cavity barriers are not required, and<br />

(k) The height of concealed space measured between the<br />

top of the structural floor and underside of the raised<br />

floor deck<strong>in</strong>g shall not exceed 400 mm and shall be<br />

fitted with automatic detection system comply<strong>in</strong>g with<br />

requirements of SS CP 10 Code of Practice <strong>for</strong> the<br />

Installation and Servic<strong>in</strong>g of Electrical <strong>Fire</strong> Alarm<br />

<strong>Systems</strong>; and <strong>in</strong> the case of spr<strong>in</strong>kler protected<br />

compartment, the height of concealed space may<br />

exceed 400 mm if the space is fitted throughout with<br />

an automatic spr<strong>in</strong>kler system which complies with the<br />

requirements <strong>in</strong> Section 2.5.<br />

2.3.11.8 The concealed spaces of suspended ceil<strong>in</strong>g over an exit<br />

passageway, smoke-stop lobby, exit staircase or other<br />

designated means of escape facilities, shall comply with the<br />

follow<strong>in</strong>g:<br />

(a) The ceil<strong>in</strong>g support<strong>in</strong>g elements and the ceil<strong>in</strong>g shall<br />

be constructed of non-combustible materials; and<br />

(b) The exposed surfaces with<strong>in</strong> the concealed space shall<br />

be of Class 0 surface flame spread.<br />

2.3.11.9 Provision of cavity barriers with<strong>in</strong> the concealed spaces of<br />

suspended ceil<strong>in</strong>g is exempted if the follow<strong>in</strong>g requirements<br />

are complied with:<br />

(a) The concealed space are not used <strong>for</strong> storage purpose,<br />

and<br />

(b) The support<strong>in</strong>g elements shall be constructed of noncombustible<br />

material, and<br />

(c) The exposed surfaces with<strong>in</strong> the concealed space is of<br />

Class 0 flame spread, (exclud<strong>in</strong>g surfaces of any pipe,<br />

cable, conduit or <strong>in</strong>sulation of any pipe), and<br />
