3.1.2 TWO-WAY EMERGENCY VOICE COMMUNICATION<br />
SYSTEM<br />
For depot with basement storey(s), two-way emergency voice<br />
communication system comply<strong>in</strong>g with SS 546 shall be<br />
provided to the basement storey(s), except <strong>for</strong> requirements on<br />
locations of remote handsets as modified here<strong>in</strong>.<br />
The master handset of the two-way emergency voice<br />
communication system shall be located near the ma<strong>in</strong> alarm<br />
panel. Remote handsets shall be provided at the follow<strong>in</strong>g<br />
locations, if present at the basement storey(s):<br />
(a) <strong>Fire</strong>-fight<strong>in</strong>g lobbies<br />
(b) <strong>Fire</strong> pump room<br />
(c) Rooms hous<strong>in</strong>g smoke control equipment<br />
(d) Lift motor rooms<br />
(e) <strong>Fire</strong> Lifts<br />
3.1.3 RADIO COMMUNICATION<br />
Basement storey(s) of depot shall be provided with radio<br />
communication facilities capable of operat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the frequency<br />
band of 470 – 490 MHz range.<br />
3.1.4 DESIGN FIRE SIZE AND PERIMETER<br />
Where required to be provided with eng<strong>in</strong>eered smoke control<br />
system, the design tra<strong>in</strong> fire size and perimeter shall be<br />
substantiated, subject to the approval of the relevant authority.<br />
