(b) be without gridl<strong>in</strong>es;<br />

(c) have spaces clearly annotated;<br />

(d) show the fire lift, firemen’s stair, smoke-stop lobbies,<br />

fire pump room, land<strong>in</strong>g valves, two-way emergency<br />

voice communication handsets and firemen <strong>in</strong>tercoms<br />

<strong>in</strong> red; and<br />

(e) be updated and <strong>in</strong> good condition at all times.<br />

2.7.5.2 A locked glass-fronted plan box constructed of noncombustible<br />

material shall be provided and firmly mounted on<br />

wall. The key shall be kept <strong>in</strong> a glass-fronted box alongside the<br />

plan box or as part of the plan box. Signage comply<strong>in</strong>g with SS<br />

508 shall be provided to read “IN CASE OF EMERGENCY,<br />

BREAK GLASS FOR KEYS”. A spare key shall be kept <strong>in</strong> the<br />

PSC.<br />

2.7.6 FIRE COMMAND CENTRE<br />

2.7.6.1 Where fire lift is provided <strong>in</strong> an underground station, a <strong>Fire</strong><br />

Command Centre (FCC) shall be provided.<br />

2.7.6.2 A FCC shall be of adequate size to house all the term<strong>in</strong>als and<br />

supervisory / control equipment, etc. of the station's fire<br />

protection / detection systems and a free work<strong>in</strong>g space of at<br />

least 6 sq. m.<br />

2.7.6.3 A FCC shall be located adjacent to the fire lift lobby at the<br />

designated storey of the build<strong>in</strong>g i.e. the lobby of the build<strong>in</strong>g<br />

on the first storey or immediately adjacent thereto.<br />

2.7.6.4 The construction of enclosure, facilities and light<strong>in</strong>g of a FCC<br />

shall comply with the SS 546 Code of Practice <strong>for</strong> Emergency<br />

Voice Communication <strong>Systems</strong> <strong>in</strong> Build<strong>in</strong>gs.<br />

2.7.6.5 Mechanical ventilation, where required <strong>for</strong> the FCC, shall<br />

comply with<br />

(a) An air-condition<strong>in</strong>g system or mechanical ventilation<br />

system, if required <strong>for</strong> the fire command centre, shall be<br />

<strong>in</strong>dependent of each other and any other system serv<strong>in</strong>g<br />

other parts of the station.<br />

(b) The mechanical ventilation rate shall be 6 air changes<br />

per hour.<br />
