JOB DESCRIPTIONS - DEOC<br />
b. Reports to District Coordination Officer.<br />
c. Location. District Headquarters.<br />
d. Status. Non Transferable at least first three years.<br />
e. Job Purpose. The purpose of this position is to lead the District Emergency Operation<br />
Centre, to run and manage DEOC in more effective coordinated efficient way to<br />
maximize impact in keeping mind the DDMA objectives. The Coordinator manages<br />
staff, and other resources of the DEOC, developing and maintaining a range of<br />
relevant internal and external relationships (government departments, Civil Defence,<br />
Armed forces, relevant NGOs, RCS, Philanthropist and media inside the district ) and<br />
while managing DEOC. The Coordinator will closely work with PEOC, NEOC in<br />
disaster and non disaster times. The District Coordinator will be overall in charge of<br />
DEOC and coordinating emergency responses in the different disasters in the district.<br />
Hence this is the key post within the DDMA in coordinating emergency responses. In<br />
Non disaster time the District Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate with<br />
Taluka/Tehsil and UCs in the district for the multi hazards contingency plans. I will also<br />
consolidate all Tehsil/Taluka UC plan and prepare one district plan and send it to the<br />
PDMA through the DCO/DC.<br />
f. Key Responsibilities<br />
(1) In coordination with, under the guidance of the DCO and District Nazim<br />
responsible for managing the DEOC and its operation in disaster and non<br />
disaster time according to the agreed policy, procedures and strategies.<br />
(2) Ensure information gathering and define technical information requirements in<br />
order to develop and advise for possible emergency response.<br />
(3) Liaise with different humanitarian organizations involved in the humanitarian<br />
response.<br />
(4) Responsible of managing the DEOC and take decisions on day to day basis.<br />
(5) Responsible to activate the DEOC properly according to the agreed<br />
procedures.<br />
(6) Responsible to check the operational readiness of alert warning system and<br />
improve means of warning areas not currently covered by the system.
