(7) Check and test fire system on airports regularly and make sure that it is in<br />
working order.<br />
(8) Organize trainings for staff on emergency management, first aid etc.<br />
(9) Prepare IEC material on disaster related issues on airports e.g. bomb threat,<br />
fire, attack on airport for passengers.<br />
(10) Formulate inventory of resources e.g. equipment, vehicles, firefighting<br />
equipment etc.<br />
b. Emergency <strong>Response</strong><br />
(1) Designate a representative to the <strong>National</strong> EOC and PEOCs, if and when<br />
needed.<br />
(2) Keep airport staff alert.<br />
(3) Designate focal person during disaster time.<br />
(4) Facilitate humanitarian organizations, embassies and other bilateral<br />
organizations for relief material during the disaster period.<br />
(5) Facilitate humanitarian organizations, UN air charters for landing and take off<br />
for relief activities.<br />
(6) Provide space for storage relief goods during disaster time.<br />
27. Rescue 1122 Services<br />
a. Emergency Preparedness<br />
(1) Prepare contingency plan scenarios for the residential and commercial areas.<br />
(2) Allocate sufficient resources for ambulances, firefighting equipment including<br />
running costs and trained human resources for rescue services.<br />
(3) Fully equip Rescue 1122 services in the existing districts.<br />
(4) Purchase more firefighting equipment and ambulances according to size and<br />
population of the each district in Pakistan.<br />
(5) Develop IEC material in national/local languages on fire prevention measures.<br />
(6) Promote Rescue 1122 services through media and other sources so that<br />
people get aware about services and can benefit from it.<br />
(7) Develop fire risk monitoring system in urban localities.<br />
(8) Conduct fire fighting and rescue drills on regular basis.<br />
(9) Keep all the ambulances and rescue vehicles and fire brigade vehicles in order<br />
to deploy them anytime and anywhere.<br />
(10) Organize training courses on search and rescue, first aid, traffic accidents,<br />
building collapse, explosions etc for Pakistan Red Crescent Society branches,<br />
volunteers, teachers, community workers so that they can play positive role in<br />
emergency.
