(3) Assist DDMA in assessment of damage and losses of the coastal public<br />

property and prepare a report and share it with DDMAs, PDMAs, <strong>NDMA</strong>.<br />

(4) Assist DDMAs, PDMAs and <strong>NDMA</strong> to evacuate communities from the coastal<br />

areas in case of cyclone or another sea related hazard.<br />

(5) Coordinate and closely work with <strong>NDMA</strong>s, PDMAs, DDMA in case of any<br />

coastal area disaster.<br />

18. Emergency Relief Cell<br />

a. Emergency Preparedness<br />

(1) Stock tents, medicines, blankets, clothing plastic sheets and tarpaulins. Share<br />

this information with <strong>NDMA</strong> on fortnightly basis.<br />

(2) Prepare inventory of emergency relief item suppliers and share it with <strong>NDMA</strong>.<br />

(3) Prepare a list of relief items suppliers those who can supply relief goods on<br />

short notices. Share it with <strong>NDMA</strong>.<br />

(4) Develop guidelines and mechanisms of release of relief goods from warehouse.<br />

(5) Maintain record of receiving and dispatching relief goods from/to foreign and<br />

local agencies in the event of disaster.<br />

(6) Prepare procurement plans of relief stores in concert with <strong>NDMA</strong>.<br />

b. Emergency <strong>Response</strong><br />

19. Fire Services<br />

(1) Designate a representative to the <strong>National</strong> EOC.<br />

(2) Immediately release relief goods in case of disaster.<br />

(3) Coordinate international relief assistance in case of major catastrophe in<br />

consultation with <strong>NDMA</strong>.<br />

(4) Closely work and coordinate with <strong>NDMA</strong>.<br />

a. Emergency Preparedness<br />

(1) Prepare contingency plan with different scenarios for residential areas in urban<br />

and slum areas in big cities.<br />

(2) Prepare contingency plan for industrial areas with particular focus on chemical<br />

industry.<br />

(3) Purchase firefighting equipment and establish fire stations according to size<br />

and population of the each city in Pakistan.<br />

(4) Develop IEC material in national/local languages on preventive measure from<br />

the fire.<br />

(5) Organize awareness programmes on fire for school teachers, students, workers<br />

in formal/informal industrial sector, gas stations, commercial markets etc.<br />

(6) Identify fire prone locations in the city and prepare contingency plan<br />

accordingly.
