This lesson explains how the system evaluates its parameters and where<br />

these parameters are stored.<br />

Lesson Objectives<br />

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:<br />

• Determine the configuration of system parameters<br />

Explain that the system parameters are stored in the kernel of the <strong>SAP</strong><br />

system during installation. This default configuration can be changed<br />

using entries in the profile files. Explain the sequence in which the<br />

parameters are imported.<br />

The profile files are created during the installation. Explain the significance<br />

of these files when starting the system.<br />

Describe which information is stored in the individual profile files.<br />

Explain the options for determining the current values of system<br />

parameters using transaction RZ11 and report RSPFPAR.<br />

Business Example<br />

You want to determine the system parameters for your <strong>SAP</strong> system.<br />

Configuring the System Parameters<br />

The configuration of the individual instances and therefore of the <strong>SAP</strong><br />

system is performed using system parameters. The default values for these<br />

parametersaredefinedintheprogramcodeofthekernel.<br />
