Unit 14: SAP Solution Manager ADM100
• SAP Support Desk: Central message management for all mySAP
solutions (including attached files or error contexts), interface to
SAPNet - R/3 Frontend, SAP Notes database search and automatic
import of SAP Notes (Notes Assistant), and the customer solution
database for customer-specific questions and answers.
• SAP Remote Support: Security solution for Microsoft NetMeeting
using SAProuter, remote access through Internet connections, end
user desktop application sharing with SAP experts.
Installation
The instructor should clarify that the SAP Solution Manager is imported
into an SAP Web AS as a normal Add-On using transaction SAINT. A
standalone system, on which central monitoring is usually also running,
is best-suited for running the SAP Solution Manager. The SAP Solution
Managers software is available free of charge. A SAP Web AS can also be
licensed free of charge in the context of installing a SAP Solution Manager.
The SAP Solution Manager is also installed on a standalone SAP Web
Application Server. The release of the SAP Solution Manager depends
on the release status of the SAP Web AS. For an overview of the release

a technical point of view, the SAP Solution Manager is installed as an
Add-On using transaction SAINT.
