ADM100 Lesson: Creating Your Own Monitors<br />

2. Now attempt to create the monitor “Core_information”. The monitor<br />

should, as far as possible, display the desired data for your system<br />

and your partner group’s system.<br />

a) In maintenance mode of transaction RZ20, place the cursor on<br />

your monitor set and choose Create.<br />

The system displays the currently registered <strong>SAP</strong> systems.<br />

Expand the tree and search for monitoring attributes that<br />

correspond to the data that you require.<br />

For the proposed monitor from task 1:<br />

• Status of the last DB backup: Look in the branch →<br />

→ Backup/Restore.<br />

• Status of the last DB log backup: Look in the branch <br />

→ → Backup/Restore.<br />

• Freespaceinthelogfilesystem(DB-dependent):Look<br />

in the branch → → OperatingSystem →<br />

Filesystem<br />

• DB errors: Look in the branch → →<br />

Health → Errors.<br />

• Terminated updates: Look in the branch <br />

→ → R3Services → Update → Update →<br />

AbapErrorInUpdate.<br />

• Terminated ABAP programs: Look in the branch →<br />

→ R3Abap → Shortdumps.<br />

• System log: Look in the branch → →<br />

R3Syslog<br />

• Average dialog response time: Look in the branch →<br />

→ R3Services → Dialog → ResponseTime.<br />

Select the MTEs that you require.<br />

Choose Save. EnterCore_information asthenameofyour<br />

monitor.<br />

Open your monitor by double clicking it.<br />

Task 3 Process Alerts in the Remote System<br />

1. Open your Core_information monitor. Display all alerts for the entire<br />

monitor.<br />

Process an alert from your partner group’s system.<br />

i) Start the analysis method for an alert.<br />
