The SAP Solution Manager is available free of charge on CD in the context
of your maintenance contract. You can order the installation CD through
theSAPServiceMarketplace(http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager →
Order Information). After installation, SAP provides you with the Enabling
Service (also free of charge). SAP Support provides you with support to
configure the basic functions of the SAP Solution Manager.
To simplify the implementation of the SAP Solution Managers, SAP offers
the SAP Solution Manager Starter Pack, which contains on-site training
tailored to your requirements in addition to implementation. If you take
advantage of this service, you should order the SAP Solution Manager
installation CD a week in advance.
Setting Up a Solution Landscape
The basic information that the SAP Solution Manager requires is defined
in the Solution Scope area. In the first step, you can define a new
system landscape to describe your SAP solution. You can document the
requirements and the technical implementation using your SAP systems
in this Solution Landscape.
