ADM100 Lesson: Performing and Checking Transports
Figure 68: Structure of Workbench Requests
Create a workbench request in the Transport Organizer (SE09). Call
transaction SE09, choose the Create button, select the Workbench request
radio button on the dialog box and confirm your choice. Enter a short
description and the transport target, assign the request to other employees
if desired, and save.
The system automatically assigns a number to the change requests
(K9), a task is created for each employee. Each of these
tasks is also assigned a sequence number.
When a development project starts, the development project leader creates
a change request. In doing so, he or she assigns the team members to the
change request. The Transport Organizer (transaction SE09) assigns a
number (K9, such as DEVK900050) to the change request. A
request should contain objects that are logically connected and can only be
meaningfully executed together. That is, a request allows you to transport
and administer complete, meaningful, and self-contained developments.
The Transport Organizer creates a task for every involved employee in the
request. If an employee assigns a repository object to the change request,
the repository object is logged in the task of that employee. In this way, all
repository objects that an employee edits during the development project
are collected in the task.
