Unit 4: Access to Help ADM100
Lesson:
112
Configuring the Online Documentation
Lesson Duration: 60 minutes
Lesson Overview
In this lesson, the setting up of the online documentation is demonstrated.
In addition to the work in the system, activities must also be performed
on the front end computer. The SAP Service Marketplace will also be
introduced.
Lesson Objectives
After completing this lesson, you will be able to:
• Set up access to the online documentation
• Use the information provided by the SAP Service Marketplace
Discuss a case in which a company’s head office and two branches are
linked by WAN connections, since they are in different locations. If the
online help was only installed on one server in the head office, every
request for help would cause load on the expensive leased line. The help
must therefore also be installed locally in the branch locations.
It is useful to open the installation guide from one of the documentation
CDs from the training material before starting this unit, so that you can
also show excerpts from it during the presentation.
System demonstrations in this unit: Configuration SR13, calling help,
location of the file sapdoccd.ini, the SAP Help Portal, and the SAP
Service Marketplace.
Business Example
The administrator has to make the online help available for all users of
the system.
Access to the Documentation with the SAP Library
The SAP Library, which is also known as the online documentation, is
an important source of information, and contains information about
all relevant topics in the SAP environment. Installing the online
documentation locally or company-wide helps users to work more
effectively with the SAP system.
