Exercise Objectives<br />

After completing this exercise, you will be able to:<br />

• Create printers and spool servers in the <strong>SAP</strong> system<br />

Business Example<br />

The administrator sets up printers in the <strong>SAP</strong> system.<br />

Task1CheckthePrintEnvironment<br />

First check the print environment of your system.<br />

1. How many spool work processes are set up for the application server<br />

to which you are currently logged on?<br />

2. How many spool processes are configured in your entire <strong>SAP</strong> system?<br />

3. How many spool servers are available in your <strong>SAP</strong> system?<br />

4. Make a setting for your <strong>SAP</strong> user so that an output request is not<br />

created immediately for a spool request.<br />

5. Which printers are defined at operating system level of your server?<br />

Where do they print?<br />

6. (If possible) Which printers are defined at operating system level of<br />

your front end PC in the training room? Where do they print?<br />

Task 2 Create a Local Printer<br />

1. Create a local printer Local## (## stands for your group number) in<br />

your <strong>SAP</strong> system that calls one of the previously determined printers.<br />

2. Output any list (Suggestion: All profile parameters that begin with<br />

“rspo”) without immediate printing on the printer Local##.<br />

Task3CreateaRemotePrinter(Optional)<br />

You can offer the participants one of the two following options for creating<br />

aremoteprinter:<br />

A) Use the participants’ hosts as destination hosts.<br />
