Exercise Objectives<br />

After completing this exercise, you will be able to:<br />

• Call central administration functions in the system<br />

Business Example<br />

You want to obtain an overview of the transactions that help you to<br />

perform your daily work as a system administrator.<br />

Task Basic Administrative Transactions<br />

1. Determine the number of instances available to you in your system<br />

and their names.<br />

2. How many work processes does your entire <strong>SAP</strong> system have? Of<br />

which types?<br />

3. How many users are currently logged on to the same instance on<br />

which you are working?<br />

4. Call your Own Data (user defaults). In a new session, check the<br />

currently active locks in your system. Use another new session to<br />

delete the session holding the locks. There are two options for doing<br />

this. What happens to the locks?<br />
