Solution 6: Maintaining the System<br />

Parameters<br />

Task 1 Save Profile Files<br />

First back up the profile files.<br />

1. Save your “runnable” profile files in a backup directory. To do this,<br />

create a Backup directory under C:\Temp and copy all profile files to<br />

this directory.<br />

a) Log on to your server. Copy the profile files from the directory<br />

\usr\sap\\SYS\profile to the Backup directory.<br />

Task 2 Import and Maintain Profiles<br />

Use transaction RZ10 (Tools → CCMS → Configuration → Profile<br />

Maintenance) to perform the following tasks.<br />

1. Import all profiles into your <strong>SAP</strong> system.<br />

a) All profile files can be imported together by choosing: Utilities<br />

→ Import Profiles → Of active servers. A check log displays the<br />

result of the import.<br />

2. Change the values of the following parameters:<br />

i) Set the value for the maximum number of permitted sessions to 7.<br />

ii) Increase the number of dialog work processes for the dialog<br />

instance by 2.<br />

Consider which profiles you are performing changes in.<br />
