Unit 6 153 Archiving In this unit, the participants will obtain an initial insight into the basics of SAP data archiving, to make them consider this topic, and in particular to define the term data archiving with regard to seemingly related terms, such as reorganization. The first lesson of this unit is therefore especially important. The two following lessons do not focus on discussing technical details, but rather on allowing the participants to perform a simple archiving run and accessing the archived data “live”. The required Customizing is also really a“meanstoanend”here. Direct customers who want to learn more about data archiving to SAP course BIT660 (“Data Archiving”). An employee leave request is archived during this unit. To create the process, the workflow was activated in the (master) system. However, it has been deactivated for performance reasons in the training systems, and can therefore not be re-enacted here. The workflow to be archived was created as follows: On January 24 2003, the employee WF-CLERK (password welcome) started an employee absence workflow in client 100 (using the transaction SWXF), which the manager WF-HEAD (client 100, password welcome) then rejected in the Business Workplace (transaction SBWP). WF-CLERK then revised the request in SBWP, and the request was thenfinallyapprovedbyWF-HEAD. WF-CLERK was informed of this by express mail. You can display the entire process (and therefore the data to be archived) in the training system, by logging on as WF-CLERK and setting the display period in transaction SBWP for the right of the screen so that it includes January 24 2003, by choosing Work Center WF-CLERK → Outbox → Started Workflows.
