ADM100 Lesson: Configuring Printers in <strong>SAP</strong> Systems<br />

the maximum number of spool work processes that can be used for<br />

front end printing for each <strong>SAP</strong> instance using the profile parameter<br />

rdisp/wp_no_Fro_max (the default value is 1).<br />

Front end printing is suitable for output on local printers, however not for<br />

production or mass printing.<br />

Of course, front end printing requires a connection to the front end PC.<br />

This method can therefore not be used for background processing.<br />

describes front end printing with the <strong>SAP</strong> ITS when using the <strong>SAP</strong> GUI for<br />

HTML. <strong>SAP</strong> Note 150533 contains information about front end printing<br />

when using Windows Terminal Server.<br />

Creating Output Devices<br />

In addition to the information in the course material, note that a printer<br />

cannot subsequently be renamed, and that the name of the printer in the<br />

<strong>SAP</strong> system is case-sensitive.<br />

Hint: Emphasize the central functions of transaction SPAD.<br />

Do not become involved in discussions about connecting<br />

existing third-party solutions. This topic must be addressed on a<br />

case-by-case basis in the context of consulting.<br />

The configuration of the spool system is a system administration task. The<br />

Spool → Spool Administration).<br />
