Unit 14: SAP Solution Manager ADM100
Figure 163: Setting Up a Solution Landscape
All systems to be monitored must be defined. At least one system must be
defined in this way so that you can use Service Level Reporting. You must
enter descriptive attributes such as: the SID, the installation number (for
SAP systems), and the system type (SAP R/3, SAP CRM, SAP BW, and so
on) for every system. Creating a system has other consequences, including
the fact that you can schedule weekly EarlyWatch alerts for these systems.
After setting up the Solution Landscape, the defined systems can access
the services of the SAP Solution Manager.
Implementation
The SAP Solution Manager supports you in performing central activities
during the implementation. These are, for example:
• Project management support with which you can manage scheduling
periods, employees, and other project information.
• A Business Process Repository, which provides templates for
mapping processes. These templates are required to define the project
scope and the central enterprise processes.
• Tools for implementing the integrated business scenarios.
• Integrated Implementation Guides that support you during the
Customizing activities for the business processes.
