Exercise Objectives<br />

After completing this exercise, you will be able to:<br />

• Schedule time-dependent jobs<br />

Business Example<br />

The administrator schedules background jobs and monitors the correct<br />

process of the system’s background processing.<br />

Task 1 Check Profile Parameter<br />

1. Check the frequency with which the time-dependent job scheduler<br />

runs.<br />

Task 2 Creating, Scheduling, and Monitoring a Job<br />

Schedule jobs and monitor their execution. Check the job results.<br />

1. Run report RSUSR000 in dialog (transaction SA38).).<br />

2. Run report RSUSR000 using transaction SA38 in the background<br />

(start time Execute immediately).<br />

3. In transaction SM36, define the job SIMPLE_##, where ## is your<br />

group number. The job should have the following properties:<br />

Job class C<br />

Consists of the ABAP program RSUSR000 as the only step<br />

Immediate start<br />

4. Check whether your job SIMPLE_## has run successfully.<br />

Find data that gives details about the start time, steps, and job details<br />

(such as client and user name).<br />

Is the spool list automatically printed?<br />

5. Determine the execution time of your job SIMPLE_## and find out<br />

whether it was executed with a delay.<br />
