ADM100 Lesson: Setting up Operation Modes
1. Schedule the operation modes that you have created in the timetable
for normal operation.
a) You can schedule operation modes using the operation mode
calendar (Tools → CCMS → Configuration → Operation Mode
Calendar, transaction SM63).
Select Normal Operation and then choose Change.
Select the start and end of the period for operation mode
“Day” by double clicking the appropriate lines. Choose the
Assign button and use the F4 help to select the operation mode
Day. Follow the same procedure to assign the operation mode
“Night”. After you have assigned the entire 24 hour period to
your operation modes, choose Save.
Task 3 Manual Switch of Operation Modes
1. To observe the change in work process distribution when the
operation mode is switched, switch to the “Night” operation mode
manually in the Control Panel.
a) You can perform a manual switch of the operation modes in the
Control Panel (Tools → CCMS → Control/Monitoring → Control
Panel, transactionRZ03).
As a first step, select the operation mode to which you want to
switch, by choosing Choose operation mode. Select the operation
mode and choose Choose.
The switch is performed in a second step, by choosing Control →
Switch Operation Mode → All Servers.
2. How can you observe the change of the work process distribution?
a) Check the changed distribution of the work processes in the
process overview (Tools → Administration → Monitor → System
Monitoring → Process Overview, transaction SM50).
