4.5 <strong>Univention</strong> Directory Manager modules<br />

The directory to be shared is entered as a parameter when starting the TFTP service. If this case<br />

the path to the boot file should be entered relative to the /var/lib/univention-client-boot<br />

directory.<br />

If the required file is called linux.0 and stored in the directory<br />

/var/lib/univention-client-boot/kernel/, Boot filename the path kernel/linux.0<br />

must be entered in the input field.<br />

’[Client devices]’ tab<br />

This tab is only found on thin client computers.<br />

Activate access to client devices<br />

Selecting this checkbox allows access from this thin client to peripherals such as CD-ROM and disk<br />

drives connected to this thin client.<br />

’[<strong>Univention</strong> Configuration Registry]’ tab<br />

Detailed information on the policy-based inheritance of <strong>Univention</strong> Configuration Registry variables<br />

can be found in Chapter 14.9.<br />

’[Desktop settings]’ tab<br />

The appearance of the KDE Linux interface can be configured for the user on this tab.<br />

Desktop language<br />

The user’s KDE language setting.<br />

Attention:<br />

For the selection to take effect, the corresponding KDE language package must be installed on the<br />

computer - on the terminal server for thin clients.<br />

Desktop profile<br />

A profile which stipulates the appearance of the KDE Linux interface for the user. The profiles entered<br />

in the univention container in the default object are available for selection (see Chapter 4.5.12.6 and<br />

[10]).<br />

Logon scripts<br />

The script entered here is run during the user’s KDE log-in.<br />
