Name (*)<br />

4.5 <strong>Univention</strong> Directory Manager modules<br />

The name of the printer driver list. The name under which the list appears in the Manufacturer<br />

selection list on the General tab for printer shares.<br />

Driver<br />

The path to the ppd file or to the /usr/share/cups/model/ directory. For example, if the<br />

/usr/share/cups/model/laserjet.ppd should be used, laserjet.ppd must be entered here.<br />

gzip compressed files can also be entered here.<br />

Attention:<br />

Ensure that printer drivers entered are saved on the respective printer server under the<br />

/usr/share/cups/model/ directory.<br />

Description<br />

A description of the printer driver, under which it appears in the Printer model selection list on the<br />

General tab for printer shares.<br />

4.5.12.3 Printer URI Lists<br />

When setting up a printer via <strong>Univention</strong> Directory Manager (see Chapter 4.5.7) the fields Protocol and<br />

Destination must be filled out. If the required protocol is not available in the displayed Protocol selection<br />

list, it can be added via a Printer URI List object.<br />

As standard the printer URI lists are saved in the univention ➞cups container.<br />

The freely selectable name of the printer URI list.<br />

Printer URI<br />

One or more protocols can be entered in this field, which are then displayed in the Protocol selection<br />

field when setting up a printer, e.g ftp:// .<br />

4.5.1<strong>2.4</strong> User templates<br />

User templates can speed up the process of creating a user by presetting certain values. Predefined user<br />

templates can be found in the user administration under Add in the Select Template list.<br />

User templates can only be created beneath cn=univention,, and are stored in<br />

cn=templates,cn=univention, by default.<br />
