15 Univention System Setup /var/lib/univention-setup/nameserver.post Name server /var/lib/univention-setup/dnsforwarder.post DNS forwarder /var/lib/univention-setup/httpproxy.post HTTP proxy Scripts with file names which end in pre are run before the change is adopted, and scripts with post afterwards. The file names of the scripts must not include any additional full stops. For the respective shell script the old value is taken as the first and the new value as the second parameter. For some module several values must be transferred to the scripts. These are summarised to one value in a special syntax. The syntax for network interfaces is: #DEVICE-IP-NETWORK-NETMASK(..) For example, if the user changes the IP address of the first network card eth0 from 10.200.3.100 to 10.200.3.200 whilst keeping the network properties the same, the parameters #eth0-10.200.3.100- 10.200.100.0-255.255.255 and #eth0-10.200.3.200-10.200.100.0-255.255.255 would be transferred to the shell script. The syntax for forwarders and name servers is: #SERVER1#SERVER2#SERVER3 For example, if two name servers are configured for one system, the value #name- server1.firma.com#nameserver2.firma.com would be transferred to the shell script. 15.4 Configuration for executing at system start There is a possibility to run Univention System Setup automatically during the system start. This is done by installing the univention-system-setup-boot package and setting the Univention Configuration Registry variable boot/setup/start to true. Furthermore, the modules to be started can be defined in the Univention Configuration Registry variable boot/setup/modules. The values correspond to the file name components behind univention-system-setup. For example, if only the modules for network and keyboard layout should be shown, the variable should be set to net,keyboard. If the keyboard module has been selected, it is always run firstly so that the changed setting applies directly for the following modules. If Univention System Setup was run at the system start, the Univention Configuration Registry variable boot/setup/start variable will then be automatically reset to false. For example, this allows precon- figuration of a system so that only the locally required parameters need to be changed during set-up. 298
15.5 Changing machine passwords/SSL certificates during system start 15.5 Changing machine passwords/SSL certificates during system start The univention-system-setup-appliance package is available for the operation of preconfigured UCS installations. This offers the possibility of regenerating the SSL certificates and host passwords during the next system start. If the Univention Configuration Registry variable system/setup/appliance/start is set to true, the passwords in the /etc/ldap.secret and /etc/ldap-backup.secret files will be reset the next time that univention-system-setup-boot is run. In addition, the passwords for the join-slave and join-backup system users will also be reset. If ssl is set in the Univention Configuration Registry variable boot/setup/modules, the root certificate and host certificates are regenerated the next time univention-system-setup-boot is started on a domain controller master. The settings for the new certificate are read out of the Univention Configuration Registry variables ssl/country, ssl/email, ssl/locality, ssl/organization, ssl/organizationalunit and ssl/state. 299
