The LDAP basis can also be changed at a later date by Univention System Setup. Changing the LDAP
basis requires the installation of an adapted licence, a repeated join and a restart of all systems.
Changes to the LDAP base cannot be replicated in all scenarios, other systems in the domain need to be
adapted manually.
Changing the DNS domain name or the LDAP base on the domain controller master changes fundamental
parameters of the other systems of the domain. The computer objects of the other UCS systems should
be deleted in Univention Directory Manager and the computers should join the domain anew (see also
Chapter 2.4.1).
Windows domain names can be changed. For reasons of compatibility, the name of a domain is not
case-sensitive and should not exceed a maximum of 14 characters.
The password for the local root user can also be changed by Univention System Setup. In addition, the
password for the administrator account in LDAP is changed on domain controller master systems. It must
be pointed out that this process does not include any checks regarding either the length of the password
or the passwords used in the past. To avoid subsequent errors by misspelling, the password has to be
entered twice.
15.2.2 Keyboard settings
The keyboard layout used on the computer can be changed by
univention-system-setup-keyboard.
