’Groups’ tab
4.5 Univention Directory Manager modules
This tab has the purpose of defining the user’s group membership. If no settings are made on this
tab when creating the user, the preset value for the primary group will be stored.
Primary group
This select list can be used for specifying the user’s primary group. All the groups registered in the
domain are open for selection. By default, the group Domain Users is preset. This setting can be
changed, further details on this issue can be found in chapter 4.5.12.6. If the primary group of a user
has been removed by an external LDAP modification, the default group is assigned to the user object
the next time the object will be modified.
Groups
Additional groups can be assigned to the user here, in which he is to be a member.
’Windows Advanced’ tab
Settings for working on Windows terminal servers can be made here.
The directory path which is to be the user’s Windows home directory on the terminal server can be
If the Windows home directory for this user is to appear on different Windows drive than specified in
the Samba configuration, the respective letter of the drive can be entered here followed by a colon,
e.g. M:.
Startup command
Path to a program which should be run when a terminal session is started. The Explorer is started as
standard for Microsoft Windows.
Working directory for startup command
The program’s working directory, which is entered under Startup command.
Use client configuration for startup command
Both configuration settings Startup command and Working directory for startup command can
be overwritten by the client application. If this checkbox is activated, the client configuration is used.
