3 Installation 34 If a UCS server system was entered in the corresponding settings mask as a name server, the name of the domain controller master is confirmed via a DNS request. In all other cases, the Search Domain controller Master in DNS option must be deactivated and the fully qualified domain name of the domain controller master entered in the Hostname of Domain controller Master field. A user account which is authorised to add systems to the UCS domain is called a join account. As standard this is the Administrator user, which was created during installation of the domain controller master. The corresponding password of the user account must be given under Password. The password must be entered identically in both fields. Further information on joining a domain can be found in Chapter 2.4.1. 14. SSL settings This input mask only appears with the domain controller master system role. A SSL certificate infrastructure is managed on an UCS domain controller master. The certificates are used by the UCS systems for mutual authentication and for encrypting network connections. In the Country code field the 2-character token of the country name as per ISO 3166-1 should be entered, e.g. DE for Germany; in the State field the federal state or province; in the City field the location of the company, and in the Department field the name of the department. The mail address will be created from the domain name. It will be used in the certificates of this certificate infrastructure. 15. Security options The Univention Installer makes it possible to pre-configure package filter profiles. The following three profiles are available: • Disabled (no service will be blocked). • Typical selection of services (some typically unnecessary services will be filtered). • Locked-down setup. Only SSH, LDAP and HTTPS are allowed. Further details on this topic can be found in chapter 10.3.2. 16. Selecting software components Components are software packages which are connected with each other as regards content, and can be installed for providing a variety of services. Components can themselves consist of several subcomponents. The subcomponents can be installed individually, or all together. Navigation within a list of components is done via the arrow keys. To access the subcomponents, select a component and press the TAB key. There are three states of selection for a component. These states are displayed in a checkbox in front of each component. If all the subcomponents belonging to a component are selected for installation, the checkbox shows an X. If none of the subcomponents was selected for installation, the checkbox is empty. If only some of the subcomponents are selected for installation, the checkbox shows a slash (/). See Illustration 3.5. The following components are available: • Services for Windows – Samba - allows the application of Linux computers as domain controller or file server in a Windows domain (see Chapter 8).
Figure 3.5: Selection of components 3.2 Text-based Installation – Windows Installer - Allows the completely automatic installation of Windows computers(see [4]). – Samba PDC on Non-DC Master - This option allows operation of a Windows PDC on other system roles than the domain controller master (only available on domain controller slave/backup and member servers, see also Chapter 8.3). – Winbind - This service is particularly required in trust settings between UCS and Windows domains (see Chapter 8.4.1). – Univention AD Connector - Solution for bidirectional synchronisation of the Univention Directory Service and Active Directory. • Mail/Groupware – Standard mail services - Basic mail services based on Postfix for sending mail via SMTP and Cyrus for providing mailboxes via IMAP and POP3. Virus scans via ClamAV and spam detection via Spamassassin are integrated (see Chapter 12). – Kolab 2 for UCS - A groupware solution according to the Kolab standard. • IP management – DNS - Service for resolving computer names into IP addresses using Bind. – DHCP - Dynamic IP management service. – Squid proxy server - Service for central caching and policy management of visited web sites. • System services – Terminal server - Linux terminal server for operating Linux-based thin clients.
