System shutdown
4.5 Univention Directory Manager modules
If this option is activated, the packages selected on the Packages [. . . ] tab are (un)installed when
the computer is shutdown.
Reboot after maintenance
This option makes it possible to perform an automatic system restart following a UCS update. The
following values are available for selection.
• No Reboot: the boot process is continued as normal following the update. The restart must
then be initiated manually.
• Immediately: the system restart is performed directly after the update
• specifies the time between 15 minutes (00:15) and 23 hours and 45 minutes (23:45) between
Attention:
the update and the automatic system restart.
When the system restart is activated, the restart only occurs after a UCS update to a higher version
number. No restart is initiated after (un)installation of individual packages!
Use Cron settings
If this field is activated, the fields Month, Day of week, Day, Hour and Minute can be used to
specify an exact time when the new package should be (un)installed.
’[Packages . . . ]’ tab
This tab is available for every UCS system type apart from thin clients.
This option can be used to create a list for packages to be installed or uninstalled to facilitate the main-
tenance of installed software packages. These lists are processed by the system affected (managed
client, mobile client, member server or domain controller) at the next (un)installation interval.
This tab is directly linked to the Maintenance tab where the (un)installation time can be set.
Package list
The package list containing the required package is selected here. Package lists can be managed
via a Settings: Package list object (see Chapter 4.5.12.9).
Package installation list
Once the required package has been selected it can be added to the installation list. Any number of
packages can be installed subsequently in this way.
Package removal list
The package to be uninstalled is to be selected here.
