4 <strong>Univention</strong> Directory Manager<br />

attributes offer a mechanism for assigning unused or newly created LDAP attributes to dialogue masks for<br />

objects managed by <strong>UCS</strong>, which can be freely configured. Furthermore, user-defined attributes make it<br />

possible to adjust existing settings.<br />

Creating user-defined attributes at the web front-end User-defined attributes are LDAP objects of the<br />

type Settings:Attribute which are stored in the LDAP directory under univention ➞custom attributes.<br />

All settings are stored in attributes of the object.<br />

Name (*)<br />

The name of the LDAP object for storing the user-defined attribute. Within a container, the name has<br />

to be unique. In <strong>Univention</strong> Directory Manager, this name is used exclusively for the output of data<br />

via the command line interface.<br />

Required module (*)<br />

The <strong>Univention</strong> Directory Manager module which is to be extended by the user-defined attribute.<br />

The command univention-directory-manager modules can be used for displaying a list of<br />

all modules at the command line. Several modules can be added to the list via the Add button. For<br />

extending a group property, groups/group is to be entered here, for a user property, users/user.<br />
