4.1 Introduction
Univention Directory Manager allows a comfortable web-based management of objects in an LDAP direc-
tory.
Objects can be, for example, users, groups, computers or DHCP entries. Alongside the Univention Direc-
tory Manager web interface described here, there is also a command line interface, see [6]. The scope of
operations which a user of Univention Directory Manager may carry out, is defined by his access rights in
the directory service (ACLs). Univention Directory Manager itself does not perform any management and
