4.4 Navigation in LDAP<br />

By clicking the up-labelled upwards arrow (➌ in Illustration 4.9), the user can navigate one level upwards<br />

within the LDAP directory. At the uppermost level, the symbol up is not displayed.<br />

The select list Add new object at current position ➍ offers object types which can be created at this<br />

position within the LDAP directory.<br />

Via the select list type ➎ and the [show] button ➏, the user can control which of the objects are to be<br />

displayed in addition to the container objects of this level. If a type is selected in the list ➎, an additional<br />

select list property ➐ will be displayed if applicable. Once the desired property has been selected, a<br />

further entry field will be displayed, if applicable, in which a search string can be entered.<br />

In the entry field Results per page ➑, the user can specify how many objects are to be displayed on<br />

one page. If more than one page is necessary to display all the objects, then a mouse click on the page<br />

numbers ➒ makes it possible to browse the pages. The page number of the currently displayed page is<br />

optically highlighted.<br />

Clicking the [Search] button ➏ causes all objects of the current level, which meet the search criteria, to be<br />

displayed in the summary. The directory objects are displayed irrespectively of the search criteria.<br />

For each object, a symbol signifying the object type, and a name are displayed in the Object column of<br />
