4.5 <strong>Univention</strong> Directory Manager modules<br />

The name of the Windows domain which trusts the Samba domain should be entered in this input<br />

field.<br />

Description<br />

A description of your choice for the domain trust account can be entered in this input field.<br />

Password (*)<br />

The password which will later be used on the PDC of the Windows domain must be entered in this<br />

input field. The password can be chosen freely, although the general requirements for passwords<br />

must be taken into account when doing so.<br />

Password (retype) (*)<br />

To avoid the risk of typing errors the above password must be reentered.<br />

4.5.5 Shares management<br />

In the sharing management, directory shares for NFS and Samba can be added, searched, edited, and<br />

deleted. Shares deleted in <strong>Univention</strong> Directory Manager will automatically be removed from the system.<br />

The data contained in the shared directory are preserved when the share is removed.<br />

The following policy objects can be used for or inherited in share management (see Chapter 4.5.11):<br />

• User quota<br />

Name (*)<br />

The name of the share is to be entered here.<br />

Host<br />

The server where the share is located. This setting cannot be subsequently edited. All of the domain<br />

controller master/backup/slave computers and member servers entered in the LDAP directory for the<br />

domain are available for selection which are entered in a DNS forward lookup zone in the LDAP<br />

directory. This setting cannot be subsequently edited.<br />

Directory (*)<br />

The absolute path of the directory to be shared, without quotation marks (this also applies if the<br />

name includes special characters such as spaces). If the directory does not exist, it will be created<br />
